Getting started with Simcity BuildIt

humble beginnings

humble beginnings

I started playing SimCity Buildit a few weeks ago and already it’s my new favorite game.   In fact, I haven’t loved playing a game so much on my iPad since I got started on Jurassic Park Builder. But this game has an ability that the other one lacked. The ability to play without needing to be connected to the internet, this is great since I don’t have to worry about not being able to connect to a server for some reason.  Which is why I have this to say:

Finally its happened to me and……you know the rest.

Thank you CeCe.

Now, I told you I just got started playing SimCity Buildit, but already I have some things to share with you that will help you much along the way.

1. Be patient. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither will your city be either.  So enjoy the journey along the way and be happy you don’t have to worry about someone dying because of a bad decision on your part.  You also don’t have to worry about other people trying to take over something you have spent time building.

2. Give the people what they want for you will receive bounteous bounty if you do.

3. You got to spend money to make money. But don’t be a moron, also be cool about fire safety, otherwise your sims will become rather hot with you.

4. Same as #1

5. Repeat steps one, two, three.

That’s all folks…..

For now.

Apple, Apple, Apple!!

lol

LOL!!!

All day long I have been hearing Apple this, Apple that and it was enough to make me sick.  I would have actually listened to/watched the presentation today but was not in a location that would make that feasible.  As a result, I will pretty much regurgitate what I have learned.

#1  iPhone 6 is doing things that Android phones have being doing for years.  Most notable to me is screen size.

#2  Apples into watches. Now since when do you purposely wear fruit on your arm?  Naw seriously, who wears watches on there arm? Yes, I know fitness enthusiasts will jump for joy.  Also there are hose who wish they were fit but were hungry so they peeled a grape will love them but arent there already plenty of devices that do that?

#3  iCloud.  Apparently we need the sunny days to chase the clouds away.  Granted, so many celebrities having naked pics of themselves says a lot about them personally.  It also makes the point that cloud storage in general is not the panacea when it comes to places to put your stuff

Just sayin’!!!

I am pretty sure the Apple market-share took a dip but with the new stuff coming out which I will likely talk about tomorrow it will surge in popularity as more Appleheads wait in line for something like the sheeple that they are.

Oh, well my shameless talk about Apple’s new stuff is over for now.  But I am likely gonna do another one tomorrow.

Stupid me!

All this time I have been downloading content from Jupiter Broadcasting and it has never dawned on me to simply use their rss feed in gpodder.

Until today!

I really feel like a dummy.  I have been going to www.jupiterbroadcasting.com and one by one I would download the shows I want such as LinuxUnplugged, Scibyte and Linux Action Show.  Now I don’t have to worry about doing that again thanks to something I already had installed.

Goodness, I really do learn as I go along, just as my about me page spoke about.

iPad follies

So, I am gonna try this again.  The last time was quite unsuccessful but that hasn’t deterred me from this attempt.

at this point your probably wondering…………..

what you talkin’ bout Anthony?

Well, I decided to write a blog post on my iPad without any external keyboard at all.  So far so good.  Of course, how much could I possibly say about that?

Well, were gonna find out.

Hmm, come to think of it this isn’t nearly the horrible experience that it was last time.   The screen hadn’t frozen on me nor has it teased me by getting some typing done before apparently revolting against me.

Talk about annoying!

Wait for it, wait for it……it’s actually still working.

Horray for me!

I haven’t forgotten about you

told you I love nature

told you I love nature

I know this year I have written the fewest posts since I started back in Summer of 2011, but please be assured that I am not stopping this journey of blogging.  I just got hit with a period where I just didn’t feel very motivated to write very much.

You’ll probably be happy to hear then that I have several posts that I am working on now and they will be available soon.  I am also hoping to be able to do at least three posts per week.

In the meantime however, there is plenty of material here already.  So much that it would take you quite some time to read it all.  Thousands of posts that either I wrote personally or reposted that I think you will enjoy quite a bit.

Whether its talking about my childhood spent outdoors that I need to expand upon, my love for Linux, or just random rants  such as this and that  .  I also love to write about my fondness of nature   I have no doubt there is something for everything in what I write.

With that being said:

Don’t you….forget about me!

Changes to Jurassic Park Part One

Pteranodon's happy now!

Pteranodon’s happy now!

I was thinking of making some major changes to where my dinosaurs, sea animals, and ice age critters would be positioned. All for maximum effect. Jurassic Park Builder is divided into several sections:

1. Jurassic

2. Aquatic

3. Ice Age

I decided this time to focus specifically on the Jurassic zone. To be even more specific the plant-eaters. It was indeed a difficult decision to move them but I decided to do so anyway as I came to a certain conclusion seen below:

“Sonetimes one has to change the way they live, the way they eat, and the way they treat each other, you see the old way wasn’t working so its on us to do what we got to do to survive.”

I digress lol!!

Look at these pictures, they are such a far cry from how things were before? It did take quite some time to get things this way. It meant changing ideas and making adjustments on the fly. But it will certainly pay off quite literally. At least in the game that is.  wan

One of my strokes of genius was to remove the road I had that separated the carnivores from the plant eaters.

After all, its not like they were going to escape like in the actual movie.

Since I removed that troublesome road, I was now able to share the decorations and enhance the value of all as a result. That is when I came up with the idea for creating a cluster of dinosaurs. With added emphasis on those that are worth the most. Would help me to enhance my Jurassic Park Allstars even more.

I purchased several more “sleeping volcanoes” as they would boost things quite a bit. Also, I got more “Bridge over ponds”. Not exactly the “Bridges of Madison county but I think you get the drift, although I promise it won’t be in San Andreas”

Oh, how I quip!!!

Triceratops was upset with me because I moved him from his place that he had for so long, so did Gallimimus but they are in better places now so I will be forgiven sooner rather than later. Camarasaurus was moved too but he didn’t seem to really care all that much.

Ouranosaurus, Dryosaurus, and Pachyrhinosaurus were three I had no idea what to do with, so I stuck them on the other side of the park.

Whew what a lot of work, and it only cost me 3.5 million coins!

One thing that hasn’t changed though….

I still don’t have more levels!!!!
