Which brings me to the Heterodon platirhinos, or Eastern Hognose Snake. Now, we have opossum here in Florida, which are quite famous for playing dead when confronted. But the Heterodon platirhinos puts those furry marsupials to shame with the sheer drama of their death act. William Shatner might even step back, shake his head, and say that it’s a little over the top.
